Woah....it's been ages since I did one of these posts....too much going on around here!!!
I'm keeping it brief since I'm still recovering from the move and as such we are off on another cheeky mini-break to Wales.....I know you're all desperate to see more pictures of hills and sheep right?!
I have a friend who I have known for many years. She and I met as part of an exchange programme between our youth theatre companies. She came to stay with my family and perform and vice versa - although I think I got the better deal since I got to stay in California and she had to visit Warwickshire which while beautiful is not quite the same!!
I digress.....my friend Margaret now lives in Maine with her husband and 2 year old daughter and amazing career (I am very proud of her achievements!) We corresponded through letters and later email and managed to forge an amazing friendship despite not have spent very much time in the same room, or country, as each other! We were bridesmaids for each other and due to her work had managed, as adults, to see each other every couple of years for a few days. However, we have been busy becoming mothers lately and so this was the first time we had seen each other for a long time and the first time our children had met.
It was incredible to spend time together again and have our children play and cuddle and laugh along with each other. We spent a lovely day exploring the woods and enjoyed spending time. It was so sad to say goodbye as who knows when we'll make it out to the US or when they'll come and visit again. I know that our little boy will be waiting and until then....there's always Skype right? Who knows, maybe these two will manage to stay friends until they're our age too.
